About me and my therapy practice

Our Approach to Therapy

We offer a holistic, individualized approach to therapy, understanding that each client is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all method—we meet you where you are.

Some clients thrive with a direct, goal-oriented approach, where we provide guidance, structure, and support in making clear, confident decisions. Others feel more comfortable with a Person-Centered approach, where the focus is on self-exploration and finding personal meaning at your own pace.

Whatever your needs, we work collaboratively to tailor a plan that aligns with your goals and values, empowering you to make better choices and move toward real-life change. We offer a safe, supportive therapeutic space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported.

My first session

Your first therapy session is a chance for us to begin building a safe, trusting relationship. It’s a space for you to share your story and feel heard without judgment.

We’ll start by exploring your life history and creating a timeline of key experiences. This helps us understand where certain patterns or habits may have formed and how they might be influencing your life today. Together, we’ll begin to look at how those habits can be reshaped in a healthier way.

You’ll be invited to talk about what you want to get out of therapy—your goals, hopes, or simply where you feel stuck. From there, we’ll develop a personalised therapy plan tailored to your needs. This may include tools, techniques, or simple homework exercises to support your progress between sessions.

We’ll also go over and sign a therapy contract, which outlines boundaries, confidentiality, and what you can expect from our work together. This ensures a safe and respectful space for both client and therapist.

Most importantly, this session is about you. It's an opportunity to express how you’d like therapy to feel—whether you prefer a structured or open style, a gentle or direct approach.

At its core, the first session is the beginning of a relationship—one based on trust, collaboration, and your unique journey toward healing and growth.
